Honestly the best art store in town. I've only ever had a problem finding something once and the art manager was able to order it for me. When it comes to art supplies only shop here for paints because of the help I get and the variety they carry. I can never resist the sale racks for shirts either.
The paints are the cheapest in town that I've found and the largest selection.
I will not buy textbooks anywhere other than Varsity. I purchased a book where the respective department never updated their account with varsity and it ended up being the wrong edition. Andrew the manager refunded the full amount and fixed a problem that they didn’t cause.
I’ve been buying textbooks from here since freshman year and they try to be fair and reasonable with their customers. I will continue to use varsity for all my textbook and tech merchandise!
We (I am a triplet) have been buying and renting our books at Varsity Book Store, since August of 2017. We have enjoyed our experience each semester at Varsity Book Store. Andrew is a nice manager, who has hired great staff! each employee has taken the time to help the three of us out. We wouldn’t want to buy/rent our books anywhere else!
The best bookstore in town. My freshman year the on campus bookstore overcharged me and told me all my materials were mandatory, and if you want to return an item it is a LONG process. Later on I found out that Varsity bookstore (just across the way) had my books cheaper and they were able to tell me if my books were required by the professor or not. They have an easy rental process that I could use on basically every book as well which makes the books even cheaper, and I could return or sell back books and codes I ended up either not using or didn’t want. They also have a bunch of TTU baseball merchandise, which is my favorite.
Varsity always has what I need and when they don't they get it in for me as soon as they can! Very thankful for a cheaper and easier route than other bookstores. Always great to get to see and pet the owner's dogs when they're at the store too! They also have great merchandise and other apparel- bought the best mugs and Christmas ornaments and comfiest sweaters!
I went to the bookstore and bought a couple of expensive access codes at this store and asked the clerk to reserve the textbook for me. They agreed, but when I came back around 4 days later, they didn't reserve it. One of my access codes didn't work. I tried the directions but it didn't work. It's clear to me that their access code was not reliable and only gave me more stress this semester. I am disappointed in this process and will not go here anymore.
I bought a Texas Tech University frame for my daughter's degree. The sales rep was very helpful. She found a frame for me at a reasonable price. She actually framed my daughter's degree and wrapped it for safe transport back to San Antonio.
I had a book from them that I thought I purchased and then without any warning I was charged $75 for not returning it because they claimed it was a rental, however everyone i know who has rented for them received an email with instructions on how to return it due to the pandemic, which I never received. Their rental books also contain a large green sticker that contains the instructions on how to take care of the book as well as the return date which was also not included on my book. They refused to give me a refund even when I asked if I could still return it. They told me it was my responsibility to know when I need to return it even tho they had not given me the necessary information on when and how to return it. Overall they did not do their job and did not provide proper customer service.
